Savor the smoky, tangy goodness of Juicy Grilled BBQ Chicken, perfect for summer barbecues and weeknight dinners!

Life on the grill never felt so satisfying until this Juicy Grilled BBQ Chicken came into my life. From the first slice into a tender, perfectly cooked chicken breast, you’ll experience that irresistible blend of smoky sweetness and tangy depth that only true barbecue can deliver. This dish is a breeze for beginner home cooks—no fancy techniques required, just a couple of hours of marinating magic (or overnight if you’re feeling extra patient) followed by a quick 14-minute sizzle on a preheated grill. Between the 2-hour (or overnight) marinade, a 14-minute cook time, and a 5-minute rest, you’re looking at under three hours for a show-stopping meal. At about 350 calories per serving, it’s a lean, protein-packed option that’s sure to impress family and friends alike.

What makes this recipe sparkle is its balance: the brown sugar introduces a whisper of sweetness, the apple cider vinegar lends a bright zip, and that pinch of smoked paprika anchors everything with its warm, earthy smokiness. A drizzle of olive oil helps the marinade cling to each chicken breast, while garlic and Worcestershire sauce deepen the savory profile. You don’t need to be a grill master to pull this off—just follow the steps, and you’ll be rewarded with juicy, flavorful chicken that’s perfect for both weeknight dinners and weekend BBQ parties. Whether you’re plate-piling it for a busy week of lunches or letting it shine at a backyard bash, this chicken checks all the boxes: easy, delicious, and absolutely satisfying.

INGREDIENTS

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, brown sugar, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to make the marinade.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for the best flavor.
  3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade and let any excess marinade drip off. Discard the leftover marinade.
  5. Place the chicken breasts on the preheated grill and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  6. Baste the chicken with additional BBQ sauce during the last couple of minutes of grilling for extra flavor.
  7. Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Note

  1. Marinating the chicken overnight enhances the flavor and tenderness.
  2. You can use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken is perfectly cooked.
  3. Try using different types of BBQ sauce to match your taste preference.
  4. For a smoky flavor, consider using a grill with wood chips.
  5. Serve with grilled vegetables or a fresh salad for a complete meal.

Sweet and spicy chicken wings are the ultimate crowd-pleaser, whether you’re hosting a game day party, a casual get-together, or just craving something delicious at home.

We’ll show you how to make the most flavorful wings with just the right balance of heat and sweetness.

Let’s get started!

Ingredients for Sweet and Spicy Chicken Wings

To make these irresistible wings, you’ll need the following ingredients:

For the Wings:

  • 2 pounds of chicken wings, split into flats and drumettes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

For the Sweet and Spicy Glaze:

  • ¼ cup honey
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup hot sauce (choose your favorite brand for desired heat)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)

Optional Garnishes:

  • Sliced green onions
  • Sesame seeds
  • Chopped fresh cilantro

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken Wings:

  • Rinse the chicken wings under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Removing excess moisture helps achieve crispy skin.
  • In a large bowl, toss the wings with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika to coat evenly.

2. Cook the Wings:

Baking Method:

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Place the wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.

Frying Method:

  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 375°F (190°C).
  • Fry the wings in batches for 8-10 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

3. Make the Sweet and Spicy Glaze:

  • In a small saucepan, combine honey, brown sugar, hot sauce, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and cayenne pepper.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture starts to bubble and slightly thickens (about 3-5 minutes).

4. Toss the Wings in the Glaze:

  • Transfer the cooked wings to a large mixing bowl.
  • Pour the sweet and spicy glaze over the wings and toss until they are evenly coated.

Tips for Perfectly Cooked Chicken Wings

  • Crispy Skin: For baked wings, use a wire rack to allow air to circulate and prevent sogginess.
  • Balancing Flavors: Adjust the amount of honey or hot sauce to suit your taste preference.
  • Choosing the Right Hot Sauce: For milder heat, opt for a sweet chili sauce. For spicier wings, try sriracha or a habanero-based hot sauce.
  • Avoid Overcrowding: Whether baking or frying, ensure the wings are spaced out for even cooking.

Let Me Tell You About This Creamy Steak Pasta

You know those nights when you open the fridge and just stare, like maybe the right dinner idea will magically appear between the wilting spinach and that mysterious jar of pickles? Well, that’s pretty much how I discovered my obsession with Creamy Steak Pasta—except, I had leftover steak that was begging not to become another boring sandwich. In my house, dinner is where the day sort of melts off, and this particular dish? It’s basically me giving my family a warm culinary hug (though my youngest would rather have chicken nuggets, but we can’t win ’em all). Oh, and a little shout out to my brother, who once put hot sauce in this—chaos ensued, and my taste buds have never recovered. Anyway, let’s dive in.

I make this when I want something a bit fancier than spaghetti, but honestly, it’s dead simple. My partner asks for it every time he’s had ‘one of those days’ at work. And me? I love how the creamy sauce takes the edge off even the most stubbornly tough steak (yep, been there). Sometimes I forget the mushrooms; family hardly notices, but I always end up missing that earthy pop. Also, this comes together way faster than my so-called signature lasagna, which, on a weekday, is just a bridge too far!

Ingredients

  • 12 oz (340 g) penne pasta
  • 1 lb (450 g) sirloin steak, sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup (50 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup (100 g) cremini mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/4 cup (20 g) fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  2. 2
Season the sliced steak with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak slices for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and just cooked through. Transfer steak to a plate and set aside.
  3. 3
In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and sauté the mushrooms for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. 4
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and cook until the sauce thickens slightly, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. 5
Add the cooked pasta and seared steak back into the skillet. Toss well to coat everything in the creamy sauce. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed.
  6. 6
Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley and additional Parmesan, if desired.
